Accommodations

Accommodations include lodging in a 31 bed facility, a Chapel, a dining room, full kitchen and living room. Both home cooked meals and gymnasium are available if requested. In addition, a TV, VCR, and DVD player will be provided if needed for retreat leaders. Travel light, and bring:

  • Comfortable clothing
  • Toiletries
  • A Bible
  • A Prayer Journal

About Assisi~South Retreat Center

Assisi~South in Bessemer, Alabama, opened its doors in 1991 as a center for spirituality and hospitality. It is a Catholic facility in the Franciscan African-American tradition that welcomes women and men of all faiths.

Consider spending a day or a weekend and experience the peace of the Lord and the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Enter the Sacred as you "Walk on Holy Ground." Experience the Lord as the psalmist says:

Retreat Information

  • Retreat cost depends on the duration and number of people attending as well as the services requested.
    • Day retreats
    • Full weekend retreats (meals optional)
    • Extended retreats (maximum 7 days)
  • A 10% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a reservation.
  • Please confirm number of persons attending, dietary restrictions or any other changes to your reservation by the Monday just prior to your retreat arrival.
